Celebrating Wyatt Medlin's Double-Gold U17 Pan Am Championships!
By the end of it, Wyatt Medlin needed a whole hospital to care for him. After Greco his head was bandaged up in the style of Rocky Balboa. After Freestyle, he had added a bloody nose. But along with those medical drawbacks came great achievements: Gold Medals in both the Freestyle and Greco disciplines at the U17 Pan Am Championships.
Below, you see his entire first-round match in Freestyle:

After a couple of additional wins, Medlin would face Canada in the Freestyle Championship Finals. The video below doesn't show all ten of the points he scored, just the big four-pointer:
Here are the USA Wrestling articles about how the American teams did in the U17 tournament, including mentions of Medlin's Golds: The Greco event, and the Freestyle event. They posted the following in the Freestyle article, and the picture after that is a snippet of the photograph that accompanies the Greco post (with some editorializing):
"Saldate was one of four American men to pick up gold medals in both Greco-Roman and freestyle this week. Illinois’ Wyatt Medlin achieved the feat at 65 kg, Oklahoma’s Joseph Jeter did so at 71 kg, and Utah's Trayvn Boger pulled the double at 110 kg."
