"Versus Battles": Braunagel v. Chewy, Pucino v. Darth Maul, and Connell v. Korg

 

Here are three additional "versus battles" as ILLINI studs go up against some serious competition from memes across the internet. Who wins these battles? You decide. 

Danny Braunagel versus Chewbacca

Braunagel is a two-time NCAA qualifier for the ILLINI and an Honorable Mention All American from Bellville Althoff Catholic High School. Chewbacca is an eight-foot tall Wookie who lives on Endor among the two-foot tall Ewoks. Now, does that make sense?

Danny Pucino versus Darth Maul

Your second "versus battle" pits a redshirt Freshman wrestler for the University of ILLINOIS, Danny Pucino, versus Darth Maul. Pucino is making a name or himself on the national scene in college wrestling. Darth Maul was a Force-sensitive Sith Lord who lived during the waning years of the Galactic Republic and during the early years of the Empire.

I would have to say that Darth Maul is one of the most compelling characters in all of the Star Wars universe. Yet, George Lucas gave him a total of about 3:50 in screen time. On the other hand, Lucas put Jar Jar Binks on the screen for approximately 19:24.

Bad decision.

Dylan Connell versus Korg

The final upload today is a versus battle between Dylan Connell and our favorite rock-ribbed alien, Korg. Freshman sensation Dylan Connell wrestles for the University of ILLINOIS. Dylan was a four-time state champion out of Marian Central Catholic. Korg is an alien creature made of rocks. He is a Kronan warrior with a sense of humor.

Lucas Byrd, Edmond Ruth and Zac Braunagel

And don't forget to watch the preceding three versus battles involving Lucas Byrd, Edmond Ruth and Zac Braunagel. These have been up for six days and already have a thousand views. I think that cat lovers will watch cat videos even if they have to watch :30 of ILLINI advertising and 1:40 of collegiate wrestling, just so they can get that sweet, sweet :20 of kittens fighting with a mirror.
